We must rapidly develop alternatives to fossil fuels. The development of solar powered vehicles may be as important a breakthrough as installing electric charging stations for stationary power. Making an impact on climate change will take time and will require a sea change in attitudes to halt the consumption of petroleum products. Conventional car companies are not committed to producing vehicles under 1,000 pounds like ours, which would require changing their supply chains . Another potential solution, fuel cell technology, will likely take too long to develop and require a great deal of costly infrastructure to produce, deliver and store hydrogen. Therefore, it will require a valiant effort on the part of pioneering companies such as ours to bring about the change that is needed.

Standard battery power can work today, particularly for lightweight vehicles that can be plugged into a standard electrical outlet or could receive power while parked anywhere in sunlight. Advances in solar technology efficiency will enable a sleeker, more aerodynamic body on the solar encapsulated surface of our vehicles.
